Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive, experienced, and results-driven Quarry Manager to oversee all quarry operations and ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site personnel, optimizing production, coordinating with Sales and Commercial teams, controlling operational costs, and ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure quarry production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and according to schedule.
- Balance customer and sales requirements with production capacity to meet company targets.
- Adjust quarry production systems and processes according to material requirements and demand.
- Liaise closely with Sales and Commercial teams to plan and coordinate production requirements.
- Establish, monitor, and manage production KPIs and performance targets.
- Prepare accurate production reports, operational statistics, and performance updates for management.
- Manage the quarry budget, monitor expenditure, and control operational costs.
- Maintain accurate operational records, documentation, and administrative paperwork.
- Implement, maintain, and enforce all relevant health and safety policies and procedures across the quarry.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Monitor extraction, crushing, screening, stockpiling, and other quarry activities to ensure operational and quality standards are maintained.
- Inspect materials produced to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards.
- Identify and resolve technical, operational, and staffing challenges in coordination with site personnel and relevant departments.
- Monitor equipment, machinery, spare parts, and production material levels and arrange replenishment as required.
- Ensure all quarry vehicles and mobile equipment are properly maintained, inspected, and fit for operation.
- Coordinate with Mining Engineers and other technical teams to maximize resource recovery and optimize quarry output.
- Lead, motivate, and develop quarry personnel to achieve operational, safety, and production objectives.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in productivity, efficiency, quality, and cost management.
Requirements:
- 10+ experience in quarry operations, mining, or aggregate production management.
- Previous experience in a Quarry Manager, Quarry Superintendent, Mine Manager, or similar senior operational role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of quarrying processes, extraction methods, crushing and screening operations, and aggregate materials.
- Comprehensive understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements within quarrying or industrial operations.
- Strong leadership, people-management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze production data, monitor KPIs, and make effective operational decisions.
- Experience managing budgets, operational costs, and resources.
- Good technical knowledge of quarry machinery, mobile equipment, and maintenance requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with Sales, Commercial, Mining Engineering, Maintenance, and other operational teams.
- Proficiency in production reporting, documentation, and relevant operational software.
