Job Summary:
The Planning Engineer III is responsible for preparing, monitoring, and maintaining project schedules for medium to large-scale construction or infrastructure projects. The role supports senior planning staff by providing accurate progress tracking, variance analysis, and timely reporting, while assisting in the coordination of project activities to ensure delivery according to schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Scheduling & Planning
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools.
- Prepare short-term and long-term planning for project activities.
- Update schedules based on project progress and changes in scope.
- Progress Monitoring & Variance Analysis
- Track project progress against approved schedules.
- Analyze delays and deviations, identifying root causes.
- Recommend corrective actions to mitigate delays and optimize performance
- Reporting & Performance Analysis
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for senior management.
- Provide dashboards and KPI analysis to support decision-making.
- Assist in forecasting project completion dates and critical path updates.
- Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with project teams including engineering, procurement, and construction.
- Ensure timely delivery of resources and materials in line with project schedules.
- Communicate schedule requirements and updates to all stakeholders.
- Risk Management & Contingency Planning

Requirements:
- 3–6 years of experience in project planning and scheduling for construction or infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of project control processes and critical path analysis
- Experience in progress monitoring, variance analysis, and forecasting
- Understanding of project management, contracts, and coordination with
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Professional certification in Project Planning (PMP, PSP, or equivalent) is preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills
- Effective communication and coordination skills
- Ability to mentor junior staff and manage multiple priorities
