Job Summary:

The Deputy Planning Manager is responsible for supporting the Planning Manager in developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules for large-scale projects. The role ensures alignment of project activities with timelines, resources, and deliverables, contributes to accurate progress reporting, and manages planning-related activities in the absence of the Planning Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Scheduling & Planning
    • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools.
    • Prepare short-term and long-term planning for project activities.
    • Update schedules based on project progress and changes in scope.
  • Progress Monitoring & Variance Analysis
    • Track project progress against approved schedules.
    • Analyze delays and deviations, identifying root causes.
    • Recommend corrective actions to mitigate delays and optimize performance
  • Reporting & Performance Analysis
    • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for senior management.
    • Provide dashboards and KPI analysis to support decision-making.
    • Assist in forecasting project completion dates and critical path updates.
  • Coordination & Stakeholder Management
    • Collaborate with project teams including engineering, procurement, and construction.
    • Ensure timely delivery of resources and materials in line with project schedules.
    • Communicate schedule requirements and updates to all stakeholders.
  • Risk Management & Contingency Planning 
    • Collaborate with project teams including engineering, procurement, and construction.

Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or related field
    • Professional certification in Project Planning (PMP, PSP, or equivalent) is preferred
    • 8–12 years of experience in project planning and scheduling for large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
    • Strong knowledge of project control processes and critical path analysis
    • Experience in progress monitoring, forecasting, and variance analysis
    • Understanding of project management, contracts, and resource allocation
    • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent reporting and presentation skills
    • Effective communication and leadership skills
    • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities
