| Design Development | - Lead the multidisciplinary coordination and integration of design information to ensure consistency, constructability, and alignment across all engineering disciplines.
- Review and technically assess design drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, and method-related submissions for compliance with design intent, contract requirements, and approved design documentation.
- Identify, track, and resolve design discrepancies, clashes, omissions, and technical conflicts, coordinating with relevant disciplines and escalating critical issues where required.
- Ensure the technical integrity, completeness, and buildability of shop drawings and coordinated technical outputs prior to submission and construction release.
- Verify that design development outputs are fit for purpose, coordinated with construction sequencing, and aligned with approved interfaces and project constraints.
|
| Project Management | - Support the Design Manager in the planning, tracking, and monitoring of engineering and technical deliverables in line with the approved project programme and key construction milestones.
- Maintain accurate visibility of engineering progress, constraints, and dependencies, and prepare regular progress updates, trackers, and reports for review by the Design Manager.
- Coordinate the day-to-day engineering workflow for the preparation, submission, review, and approval of design drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documents supporting site activities.
- Liaise with discipline engineers, planning, procurement, and construction teams to facilitate technical coordination, resolve routine engineering issues, and highlight potential impacts on design delivery or site progress.
- Identify potential design, interface, and site-related technical risks, and escalate critical issues to the Design Manager with supporting information and recommendations.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, planning, procurement, and construction stakeholders to resolve technical challenges, manage dependencies, and prevent schedule impacts.
- Identify potential programme and interface risks related to engineering deliverables and escalate critical issues with clear recommendations.
|
| Compliance and Quality Assurance | - Support the Design Manager in verifying that design drawings, shop drawings, ‘material submittals’, and technical documents comply with Employer’s Requirements, contract documents, and applicable codes and standards.
- Check that design intent is accurately reflected in shop drawings and construction documentation, and coordinate clarifications with discipline engineers as required.
- Apply technical document control, review, and QA/QC procedures across design and construction stages in accordance with project requirements and CDE processes.
- Maintain and update technical review and approval records, including tracking comments, revisions, submissions, and outstanding actions across all disciplines.
- Support design reviews, audits, and authority submissions, and coordinate the closure of technical comments, observations, and non-conformities.
|
| Stakeholder Engagement | - Operate within the Design & Build design management workflow, coordinating technical communications between consultants, contractors, and internal teams under the direction of the Design/Technical Manager.
- Manage the day-to-day technical coordination process, including administration, tracking, and follow-up of RFIs, technical queries, design clarifications, and interface inputs.
- Prepare, consolidate, and maintain accurate technical records, logs, and status updates to support client, consultant, and authority meetings led by the Design Manager.
- Ensure all technical communications, actions, and decisions are aligned with the approved design workflow, properly documented, tracked, and closed out in accordance with project procedures.
|
| Research and Innovation | - Stay informed of current materials, construction methods, and engineering practices relevant to the project.
- Identify and propose practical technical improvements or alternatives that may support cost efficiency, programme optimization, or buildability, for review by the Design Manager.
- Capture and contribute to lessons learned, technical feedback, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to support continuous improvement across the project and organization.
