Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Civil/Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in Overhead Transmission Lines (OHTL) – 400 kV. The ideal candidate must hold a TAQA Competency Certificate, with hands-on experience in construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities related to high-voltage transmission systems. This role requires strong site execution capability, safety compliance, and coordination with project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical & Site Execution
- Execute Civil/Electrical works related to 400 kV OHTL towers, foundations, stringing, and erection.
- Ensure all activities comply with project specifications, utility standards, and safety regulations.
- Conduct site inspections, verify technical drawings, and ensure proper implementation of approved designs.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers for material delivery, installation, and quality control.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide engineering solutions during site execution.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure strict compliance with TAQA, LAP, and PTW (Permit to Work) procedures.
- Monitor site safety activities and enforce regulatory HSE policies.
- Prepare risk assessments, method statements, and ensure worksite readiness prior to energization activities.
- Project Coordination
- Work closely with project managers to meet project milestones and execution schedules.
- Participate in progress meetings, prepare daily/weekly site reports, and highlight risks or delays.
- Coordinate with utility authorities and inspection teams for approvals and clearances.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain documentation for inspections, site activities, test reports, and compliance records.
- Ensure proper closure of NCRs, punch lists, and QA/QC documentation.
Requirements:
- Diploma / B.E / B.Tech – Electrical or Civil Engineering
- TAQA Competency Certificate (Mandatory)
- LAP / PTW certification or experience in permit systems (Mandatory)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in OHTL (400 kV), including 2 years in GCC
- Strong understanding of HV transmission standards, utility specifications, and safety requirements
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, SLDs, and tower schedules
