Job Summary:

Nadia`s client, a global logistics/shipping company operate more than 500 plus distribution centers/offices in 40 countries requires a Managing Director with10 plus years of senior managerial experience in logistics industry with exposure to general management, managing operations and budget processes or comparable position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • RULE PURPOSE
    Accountable for the overall OPCO direction, strategies, business performance, and people management.
    Responsible for, under the corporate business strategies, developing and managing the activities of the business on a local level including expanding local market and customers with entrepreneurship in achieving its short and long-term financial and operating objectives as set by the overall corporate business plan.
    Responsible for developing and expanding global "end to end business" which combines local business and "port to port" traffic business, from the country/area in charge, with utilizing and contributing to company Group network.
    Responsible for embedding company Group corporate culture, including 3C's Behavior Model and Kaizen Mindset into the organization, and also responsible for complying strictly with both global and local laws and regulations.
    Ensure appropriate Organization, Leadership, and People Management of the organization.
  • Overall Strategy
    Install company Group’s Mission, Vision, and Values into the employees' mindset and behavior.
    Translate company business strategy, policies, and mid-term plan into Opco’s strategy, policies, and mid-term management plan.
    Support and contribute to the global business expansion by engaging with strategically important customers and network business opportunities.
    Formulate and implement practical action plans to achieve company objectives in customer development, market expansion, profit and loss management, service quality, efficiency improvement, resource management, and legal compliance.
    Compliance Management
    Supervision on internal control system, compliance structure at the country/area in charge.
    Quality Management and Performance Improvement
    Ensure a safe and healthy work environment across all locations by adhering to local regulations and Group guidelines. In the event of an incident, promptly report it to GHQ, investigate the root cause, and implement effective
    People Management
    Assure that all management levels have the right level of autonomy and responsibility.
    Ensures that talent management selection process and succession plan is completed for all key positions, supported by Human Resources
    Ensures appropriate talent selection and key position succession planning in the organization. -Create and support a culture of continuous learning in the organisation
    Promote employee engagement throughout Human Resources Management processes.
    Ensures the development of individuals through providing opportunities to learn and through assignment to right position inside and outside the organization.
    Coaches and directs people to allow them to achieve both organizational and individual objectives.
    Encourage and motivate employees by themselves to develop individual capabilities.
    Build diverse and inclusive teams and company culture
     
Requirements:
  • REQUIRED LEVEL OF EDUCATION
  • University degree, preferably in logistics, engineering or business administrationRELEVANT EXPERIENCE
  • 10 plus years of senior managerial experience in logistics industry with exposure to general management, managing operations and budget processes or comparable position.
  • REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Excellent knowledge of the logistics industry (freight forwarding, contract logistics, land transportation, etc.).
  • Demonstrated excellence in a top-level operational position or related role in an international logistics organization.
  • Experience working within a multinational organization and/or experience from a logistics company active across different transportation sectors.
  • Deep understanding of relevant topics, such as supply chain management, sales and business development, finance management, process engineering, freight forwarding, Quality and Kaizen activities etc.
  • Able to demonstrate teamwork, collaboration, adaptability, and initiative with an understanding of group strategy – experience working in a complex international matrix organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to lead, plan and manage change.
  • Proven strength in conceptual thinking and execution.
  • Capability to work with customers – outstanding communication (verbal and written) and negotiation skills.
