CTO - Chief Technology Officer

Full Time position , base location is flexible, but preference to be based in the GCC(Dubai), or Eastern Europe, with easy access to the regions we have our offices, and majority of the openings.

  • Create and lead a compelling technology vision and strategy ​whilst maintaining high levels of alignment and accountability to empower individuals and teams to deliver.
  • Lead, innovate and manage the architecture, delivery organisation and resources to achieve our strategic technology vision and strategy.
  • Evangelise the company’s vision and strategy with internal and external customers by playing a key technical sales role in large company deals.  
  • Continuously assess opportunities to focus on customer success and product adoption to drive company growth and performance.  
  • Deliver high-quality product experiences for customers, focused on achieving commercial business outcomes through best in class technology functionality and design.
  • Regularly review the resource allocation across teams and manage budgets effectively to ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Promote lean and agile ways of delivering value through the technology team
  • Attract and retain talent within the team, setting both a high-performance standard and providing the required support where needed.

  • At least 10 years of engineering management or technology leadership .
  • At least 5 years of prior experience in software development or architectural leadership in organisations with global, scaled technical infrastructure.
  • IOT, Disruptive and Hospitality SMART technology interest.
  • Experience scaling complex technical systems globally.
  • Successfully led, managed and grown teams of 30+ engineers in a high-growth, distributed working environment.
  • Worked with multiple stakeholders, internal and external, on varied technology and deliverable strategy.
  • Understanding of commercial deliverables associated with early technology adoption and the how to scale appropriately.

  • Extensive experience of senior leadership within exponentially growing diverse business lines
  • Be comfortable leading strategic meetings with partners, and will be able to travel to client sites around the world to establish and maintain relationships
  • Ability to build relationships and avoid creation of silos
  • Significant understanding and knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the software engineering field
  • Full understanding of Software Development Life Cycle methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall, and know when to use which one
  • Experience in Project Managing, directing and managing large complex projects and supervising and/or leading other professional level IT staff
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers and technical teams
  • Arabic definitely a plus

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing).
  • Familiar with new technologies, with the ability to work with off the shelf products , and create and infrastructure fit for a mid-size company, that is set for significant growth, and we would like our infrastructure to be fit to grow with us
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and capability of both building lasting internal/external relationships and have a pro-active approach towards connecting the right people, take business ownership, and drive for results
  • The ability to be a coach and leader, and create a successful internal and external group of people to deliver on the vision of the company, without the need to create armies of resources
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively understand hotel transactions (both franchised and managed); handle multiple projects on short timetables; and manage staff resources efficiently.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, proactive outlook and approach to professional life is essential.
  • An ability to work in a team environment with a small, but diverse team is critical.
  • Mature, professional demeanor, capable of expressing confident, independent judgment.
