Job summary

The Assistant Manager Financial Reporting will be responsible for supporting the finance department in various financial reporting activities. This role will require a strong understanding of financial principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Main responsibilities

1.      Financial Reporting

·         Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with regulatory standards.

·         Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential risks.

·         Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather necessary information for financial reports.

·         Ensure adherence to internal controls and policies in financial reporting processes.

2.      Budgeting and Forecasting Support

·         Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.

·         Provide financial data and analysis to support budgeting decisions.

·         Monitor budget variances and provide explanations to management.

·         Collaborate with departments to ensure alignment of budgeting goals with overall financial objectives.

3.      Compliance and Audit Management

·         Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.

·         Assist in the coordination of internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

·         Implement controls to mitigate financial risks and ensure data integrity.

·         Address audit findings and implement corrective actions as needed

4.      Financial Analysis and Insights

·         Conduct detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

·         Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and presentations for senior management.

·         Identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue enhancement, and process improvements.

·         Provide financial insights and recommendations based on analysis of key performance indicators.

5.      Process Improvement and Efficiency  

·         Identify inefficiencies in financial reporting processes and propose solutions for improvement.

·         Implement best practices to streamline financial reporting procedures and enhance accuracy.

·         Automate repetitive tasks to increase efficiency and reduce manual errors.

·         Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of financial reporting processes.

6.      Stakeholder Communication and Relationship Management

·         Communicate financial information effectively to internal stakeholders, including department heads and senior management.

·         Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial data.

·         Build and maintain relationships with external auditors, regulators, and other relevant parties.

·         Address inquiries and provide financial insights to support decision-making

Required qualifications

·         Bachelor's degree finance, accounting

·         The candidate should have a strong academic background with a focus on financial reporting & Audit.

·         Professional certifications such as CA or ACCA

·         Preferred qualifications; A master's degree in business administration (MBA) with a concentration in finance or a similar discipline is highly preferred.

·         Additional certifications such as CFA or CPA.

·         Required experience; A minimum of 5+ years of experience in financial reporting or accounting, preferably with an audit background

·         Experience in a public accounting firm with exposure to diverse clients, audit processes, and financial reporting standards in a public accounting setting.

·         Prior experience with statutory reporting for a publicly listed company is a plus
