CONTROL DEPARTMENT MANAGER   (34791)

The Control Department Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, cost control, document control, and risk management activities of high-rise building construction projects. The role ensures that all control systems are implemented effectively to support the successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Project Planning & Scheduling:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using tools like Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Coordinate with project managers and site teams to align schedules with construction milestones.

Cost Control & Budgeting:

  • Establish and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
  • Analyze cost variances and recommend corrective actions.

Document Control:

  • Ensure proper documentation of all project-related data, including drawings, contracts, and reports.
  • Implement and maintain document control systems to ensure compliance and traceability.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Implement change control processes and assess impacts on cost and schedule.

Performance Monitoring: 

  • Track project progress against baseline schedules and budgets.
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team of planners, schedulers, cost engineers, and document controllers.
  • Ensure consistent application of project control procedures and tools.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Liaise with internal departments, clients, and subcontractors to ensure transparency and alignment.
  • Provide timely updates and reports to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in project controls, preferably in high-rise building construction.
  • Proficiency in project control software (Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel, ERP systems).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • PMP, CCP, or equivalent certification is a plus.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience in managing control systems for large-scale vertical construction projects.
  • Familiarity with international construction standards and practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
