The General Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations. This role involves managing general ledger functions, supporting financial audits, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting.
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and subsidiary accounts.
Prepare journal entries and ensure proper documentation.
Manage accounts payable and receivable transactions.
Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
Prepare financial statements and reports in accordance with accounting principles.
Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis.
Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulatory requirements.
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
Monitor financial transactions and ensure accuracy and completeness.
Review and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies or trends.
Maintain proper filing of financial records and documentation.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in accounting or a similar role.
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, SAP, Oracle).
Strong Excel skills and familiarity with other Microsoft Office tools.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
