We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist with an HR background for our client. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll while also supporting HR functions. This role requires proficiency in payroll systems, a solid understanding of HR policies and procedures, and the ability to work closely with both employees and management to address payroll-related inquiries and issues.
Key Responsibilities:
· Process payroll on a bi-weekly/monthly basis for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws.
· Calculate and verify wages, bonuses, deductions, and other payroll-related adjustments.
· Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and submission of necessary documentation to government agencies. o Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
· Assist with HR functions such as employee onboarding, benefits administration, and maintaining employee records.
· Support HR team with employee data management, ensuring all records are updated and compliant with legal requirements.
· Coordinate and assist with employee leave management (sick leave, vacation, maternity/paternity leave, etc.).
· Handle inquiries from employees regarding payroll, benefits, and other HR-related matters. o Generate payroll reports, including earnings, deductions, and tax withholdings for management review.
· Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring proper documentation for audits and compliance purposes. o Provide support during internal and external audits, ensuring payroll compliance is met.
· Coordinate with HR, finance, and management teams to ensure seamless communication and accurate payroll processing.
· Resolve payroll-related issues, such as discrepancies in pay or benefits, in a timely manner.
· Ensure that all HR and payroll data is confidential and handled according to company policies and legal requirements.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field. o Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist Minimum 5 years.
· Some exposure to HR functions and an understanding of HR policies and practices. o Strong knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and benefits administration.
· Familiarity with HR functions such as onboarding, leave management, and employee records.
· Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday, QuickBooks) and HR systems.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) for payroll data management and reporting.
· Experience with HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) is a plus.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
· High degree of integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
