JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Chief Installer, you will report to the Site Manager and will be responsible for the technical co-ordination of a workforce consisting of 12 personnel. The primary task is the installation of highly sophisticated electronic hardware that is operated via control software, which will also involve the commissioning and handover processes. You will also be responsible for understudying the Site Manager and have the ability to backfill their role during any periods of absence.

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

As a Chief Installer you are directly responsible to the Site Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties : Coordinating and assisting with all tasks performed by the installation team in accordance with the installation plan.

DETAILED ROLE DESCRIPTION

Project Management

  • Control and coordinate and assist in project activities and ensure those assigned projects are completed to the client satisfaction and to meet quality, time and profit objectives;
  • Complete assigned projects in compliance with client expectations, company objectives and all contractual documentation;
  • Ensure strict adherence to statutory regulations, particularly in regard to safety;
  • Mange project conflicts;
  • Monitor installation progress and update project installation programs and forecasts as required in line with physical and financial targets;
  • Ensure optimum utilisation of personnel and equipment at each site, and the security of material and equipment; and
  • Oversee the quality of project deliverables and oversee the implementation of project procedures.

Implement the Project

  • Execute the project according to the project plan,
  • Ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured,
  • Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project, and
  • Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards.

 

Installations

  • Oversee and perform installation works as required; and
  • Assist with onsite installations, as required.
  • Direct installation team to ensure compliance with UAE regulations and in line with the project deliverables.

 

Other

  • Contribute to team work and project culture,
  • Able to be self-motivated and perform solo work when needed,
  • Be able to travel as the needs arise,
  • Understanding of the UAE PG culture,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and
  • Good time keeping and management skills.

 

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Educational/Vocational Qualifications
  • Any relevant trade qualifications in electrical and or a degree / diploma in Engineering or Maintenance Management

 

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years site management experience.
  • Previous experience in the electrical, repairs & maintenance industries

 

Knowledge

  • Extensive knowledge in managing installations or onsite project work and processes including conducting and coordinating technical aspects of the project

SUPPORT FOR MANAGEMENT & OPERATIONAL FUNCTIONS

  • Contribute to the development of team and workplace business plans, to support the ATS Strategic Plan;
  • Capture relevant data to ensure information collection can contribute to management reporting, in particular reporting against performance indicators in the Strategic Plan and Compliance Management
  • Ensure compliance with sector requirements, and
  • Support annual audits & returns.

  • Contribute to ATS work, health and safety responsibility by:
  • Taking reasonable care to protect own health and safety at Work;
  • Communicating any factors that impact on ATS WH & S responsibilities, policies and/or procedures;
