Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our finance team within the Oil & Gas sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and financial reporting to support strategic decision-making. This role requires a solid understanding of the oil & gas industry's cost structures, project accounting, and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, analyze, and report on monthly management accounts, including variance analysis.
- Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts for operational and capital expenditure.
- Perform cost analysis and cost control for upstream/downstream projects, including drilling, exploration, production, and refining.
- Collaborate with operations, procurement, and project teams to ensure financial data integrity and accuracy.
- Analyze financial performance and provide insights to senior management for business planning and decision-making.
- Support joint venture accounting and cost recovery processes.
- Assist with financial modeling for new projects, investments, and acquisitions.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, policies, and statutory reporting standards.
- Prepare reports for internal stakeholders, partners, and regulatory bodies as required.
- Coordinate external and internal audits and respond to audit queries in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent) is mandatory.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the oil & gas or energy industry.
- Strong knowledge of management accounting, budgeting, and cost control in a project-based environment.
- Proficient in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems).
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
