Competent in using CAT tools (Preferably MemoQ)
Ability to render intact texts in language combination across a variety of subject matter areas including administrative, academic, policing, HR, leadership, economic, political and other fields.
Ability to interpret, simultaneously and consecutively, in a variety of context and audiences.
Excellent proofreading skills with the ability to identify grammar, spelling and punctuation errors.
Using specialist dictionaries, thesauruses and reference books to find the closest equivalents for terminology and words.
Conducting extensive research using appropriate tools and methods for terminology extraction and conceptual equivalence.
A proven ability to work quickly and efficiently with accuracy and attention to details.
Proven record of relevant experience in Translation and Simultaneous/Consecutive Interpreting in government/private sector (Policing background is an asset).
In-depth understanding of the UAE community & cultural nuances.
Flexibility to work in different locations across various Emirates and short-term projects.
Liaising with clients and various internal & external stakeholders.
Consulting with subject-matter experts in specialist areas.
Adhering to translation-quality standard and QA policy.
A minimum of a 4 years degree in Translation/Interpreting/Linguistics or equivalent from a reputed academic institution.
