A leading global development support entity in Abu Dhabi requires a Senior Financial Analyst for their equities and investment management division. Successful incumbent shall be responsible for performing, preparing and establishing various financial analysis, opportunities quantifications, financial projections and capital adequacy calculations with a view to provide all required financial data, with utmost accuracy, timeliness, and within set standards and guidelines to the management. Below are the scope and key result areas to fulfill the candidature requisites.

Daily Operations:

  • Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement
  • Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate reports of the Investment Department to meet company requirements, policies and standards

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead the valuation analysis on a wide range of target investment opportunities using accepted and relevant approaches and theory
  • Design financial models for discounted cash flow, market multiple, market transaction and analyses
  • Prepare analyses, comparisons, estimates and forecasts related to key financial matters like investment decisions, cash management, expense budgeting, etc. based on the research on industry standards, benchmarks and trends for performance measurement
  • Analyze financial data and performance indicators to determine past financial performance and/or project financial probability and assist in the development of financial reports
  • Develop long term financial projections, considering alternative scenarios and economic prospects as appropriate
  • Manage entity’s equity investments portfolio to ensure both liquidity and profit availability
  • Review the entity’s strategy to develop a solid understanding of the broader investment, settlement and risk management issues, and strategies of the Fund

Self-Management Responsibilities:

  • Defines performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the reporting manager and ensures that the goals are monitored and achieved during the course of the year
  • Take ownership of his/her own learning agenda by identifying development needs in consultation with the reporting manager and working towards bridging the gaps through various means which go beyond just training
  • Understand the competencies relevant to his/her role, and works towards displaying as well as developing these effectively
  • Keep abreast of relevant professional/industry developments, new techniques and current issues through continued education and professional networks

Policies, Processes & Procedures:

  • Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
  • Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
  • Comply with all relevant information security practices and standards to ensure data integrity and confidentiality

Basic requisites:

  • Chartered accountant or equivalent (CFA, CMA or CPA)
  • Fluent written and spoken English and Arabic is essential
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Private Equity, Financial Analysis or Asset Management
