Job Summary:

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of building structures, infrastructure, and facilities. The role involves ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget, while adhering to all regulations and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Design and prepare detailed drawings and specifications for civil engineering projects such as roads, bridges, buildings, and drainage systems.
    • Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to evaluate project requirements.
    • Develop and review project plans, schedules, and budgets.
    • Supervise and coordinate the construction process to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met.
    • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth communication throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and building regulations.
    • Oversee site activities, ensuring that work is being carried out according to design specifications and approved methods.
    • Ensure that all site operations follow safety protocols and guidelines.
    • Inspect completed works and suggest improvements or corrective actions when necessary.
    • Perform quality checks and inspections on materials, workmanship, and construction activities.
    • Ensure all designs and plans comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and standards.
    • Maintain accurate records of site progress and ensure proper documentation for regulatory compliance.
    • Estimate material, labor, and equipment costs for projects.
    • Monitor project budgets and control expenditures to ensure cost-efficiency.
    • Order and track materials required for construction and coordinate their delivery.
    • Work closely with architects, other engineers, and construction teams to ensure integrated and effective project development.
    • Assist in the preparation of tender documents and contract negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (required).
  • Licensure/Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or ability to obtain one within a specified period.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in civil engineering, including hands-on project work and site supervision.
