Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage the accounting and financial reporting function. The role requires strong expertise in full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and investment-related transactions, along with the ability to independently handle accounts and supervise junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complete accounting operations independently
- Prepare and finalize trial balance, profit & loss statement, and balance sheet
- Ensure timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing
- Maintain accurate and compliant books of accounts in line with applicable accounting standards
- Perform and review bank and general ledger reconciliations
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable
- Review journal entries and ensure accuracy of supporting documentation
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure proper expense classification
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
- Assist in statutory and management reporting requirements
- Supervise and guide junior accountant(s)
- Review work performed by junior staff and ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Provide technical support and training where required
- Prepare financial statements and management reports
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Provide financial data and analysis to support decision-making
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in investment or financial services
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (IFRS preferred)
- Hands-on experience in trial balance and full set of accounts
- Ability to manage accounting functions independently
- Experience in supervising junior staff
- Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, SAP, or similar)
- Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills
