A well established international project design company is looking for a European Architectural Engineer with more than 15 years of specification writing experience, with at least 5 years of those spent in the GCC and MENA region using NBS tools or equivalent international European and British formats. Ideal candidate should be a registered member of relevant professional body such as RIBA/NBS, CSI, BSI and CIPS.
Qualification, Experience and Requirement:
Degree from a well-recognised university or institute in Architecture, Architectural Science, Architectural Technology or equivalent.
Develop master specifications including compliance with LEED’s administrative and sustainable product requirements, in addition to other local and regional green building requirements.
Previous specification writing experience with a large Architectural/Engineering firm, preferably in the MENA region, is very desirable.
Specification writing awareness and proficiency in Qatar Construction Specifications QCS 2014 format, and the ability to amend and update QCS to meet project particulars.
Proficiency in NBS Building and ability to create an inherent Office Standard Specification.
Expertise in handling CSI “construction specification institute” Master format specifications, including awareness of different Master Format versions.
Thoughtful familiarity with E-Specs.
Ability to edit specifications in a targeted technical manner to comply with design requirements without merely specifying systems as a basis-of-design. Capability in generating detailed technical specifications without merely mentioning manufacturers’ names and references.
Excellent working knowledge of building materials and construction technology.
Good working knowledge of current contract law as it applies to construction.
