SALES AND RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (AGRO COMMODITIES) (28946)
An agro-commodity trading company requires a target-oriented sales and marketing professional who will be responsible for reaching out to potential vendors and clients anywhere in the supply chain of agriculture commodities to develop relationships, understand the market dynamics and trends.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the field of business, marketing, international trade, supply chain (preferred).
2-3 years of work experience in research, marketing or sales oriented role.
Experience in sales of pulses, beans, rice, sugar, and other agriculture commodities.
Ability to work independently and a strong ambition to be successful in the assigned role.
Strong willingness to learn the commodity business and ability to work unsupervised.
Strong verbal and written language skills in English.
Strong research and analytical skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
Promote positive relations with key suppliers, customers and brokers at all levels of trade cycle.
Compile, analyze and communicate market developments and information to our suppliers and customers and update them about recent transactions.
Participate in operational tasks and issues as they arise.
Keep up to date with commodity market trends and conditions to ensure competitiveness.
Aggressively target new markets and develop positive relationships with key suppliers and customers in each market.
Keep yourself up to date with the current market by actively speaking to people in our network and by reading research reports on different portals and websites. Also, update the customers on new developments.
Manage risk by ensuring our customers are trading within the set credit limits and managing their payments from time to time.
Use a variety of software including but not limited to our ERP system, Microsoft Office to produce correspondence documents and maintain presentations, records, spreadsheets and databases.
